Scrapbook in a box. or Photo Explosion Box

One of the ladies on a stamp list I belong to asked about a Photo Explosion Box. I know it by the name Scrapbook in a box. So.....here is the tutorial on how to make one of these. They are super easy. I Probably have made 20 or 25 of these for different occasions. Baby Shower gifts, Bridal Shower gifts, Graduations, Vacation, just about any theme you want to do.

This shows the box closed.

Scrapbook in a Box or Explosion Photo Box
Tutorial by: Paula Goff

Supplies:
2 or 3 sheets of 12” X 12” card stock Different colors that coordinate.
1 sheet of 8-1/2” x 11” of card stock or designer series paper that will coordinate. (for your top)
1 or 2 sheet of designer series paper for the inside pages. You also want these to coordinate.
Scor Pal
Paper Snips
Sticky Strip
Snail adhesive
Ribbon
Embellishments

Step #1
Score your first piece of 12” x 12” piece of card stock at 4” and 8”.
Rotate 90 degrees and score again at 4” and 8”.

Step #2
Carefully cut away all four corner pieces. (you can use these later in the construction of your project. Crease your score lines. This is the bottom of your box.

Step #3
Cut your next piece of card stock 11” x 11”. Score at 3-5/8” and 7-3/8. Turn 90 degrees and score again at 3-5/8” and 7-3/8”. Cut away all four corner pieces. Crease your score lines.
This is one of the insert pieces.

Step #4
Cut your next piece of card stock 10-1/2” x 10-1/2”. Score at 3-1/2” and 7”. Turn 90 degrees and score again at 3-1/2” and 7”, Cut out the four corners. Crease your score lines.

Step #5
Cut your Designer series paper (DSP) into a 7” x 7” square. Score at 1-1/2” on all four sides.
Cut up to the 1-1/2” score line. Crease and tape down to form your box lid.

Step #6Cut your ribbon to fit your box lid. I put Snail approximately every 3” except where I would be tying the ribbon. The snail is to hold the ribbon in place.

Step #7
Add your designer series paper to the different layers of your box. I cut mine ¼” smaller than the square they will fit into.

Step #8
Embellish, Embellish, Embellish. Assemble with your photos and you are done.
